Finally!

First let me say I know I have been delinquent when it comes to blog postings. But things have been extremely crazy lately. Things got real busy at work and that combined with trying to get this house project started have made for some pretty hectic times around here.

Anyway, we finally got our plans complete. This is a legitimate FINAL PLAN at this point, unlike the other prior claims. The appraisal is complete and we're in underwriting for the construction loan so hopefully all will go well there. We've also submitted our ACC (Architectural Control Committee) package to the Homeowner's association and have gotten all of our bids from subcontractors and suppliers. So if all goes according to plan, we hope to break ground sometime around the first week of June.

Also, in the process of getting bids from subcontractors, we met a guy who has been a subcontractor (paint and drywall) for 30+ years but is just now getting started as a general contractor / homebuilder. He was interested in working with us on the project as a builder and we were able to negotiate a win/win situation for both parties. So we now have an official builder on the project and he has already been immensely helpful. We hope that will make things go much smoother (it already has with the bank and other subs, etc.).
